Zeus molded Pandora as a lure, a deep trap from which there was no escape. On the outside, she looked like an immortal goddess; irresistible grace and charm radiated from her beauty. Divine in looks, human in speech, bestial in her insatiable appetites for sex and food.

Pandora summed up all the contrasting elements of what it means to be human. She was evil, but a likable evil clothed in stirring beauty, the kind of evil one can neither do without nor endure. And of course, she was ever so curious.

When Pandora was sent to earth, the messenger gods Iris and Mercury brought her a large box. She was asked to watch it until they returned and warned sternly against opening the box under any circumstances. Naturally, Pandora's curiosity caused her to open the box. Once it was open, out flew all manner of things dark and sinister. When she closed the box again, all that remained in it was hope.

Pandora's Cabinet in Castle Double Moon is a very special piece of furniture. It is more than a large, finely crafted, rosewood cabinet. In fact, it is a magical construct made to contain items of special use and make them available at will in any similar cabinet located in other rooms. So, while one may only see the true cabinet here, be not surprised to find these objects, in use, elsewhere. Of course, not all have the power to open the Cabinet and even fewer have the will and knowledge to employ the items within.
