ALL VISITORS are WELCOME here in our virtual world
...regardless of whether or not you sign up for the group list.

YOU are a creative person...
...even if you only enjoy reading what others create,
...it takes imagination to enjoy imaginative works.

A WRITER is someone who writes.
...This could be you. Try it.

LIST ACTIVITIES
...We write solo or collaborative scenes and stories. We chatter a little. We roleplay interactively. This is not a 'game' with points and such. It's creative writing. Bring your imagination (and unbridled libido :)

LIST ETIQUETTE

...Language and writing mode are important to us. We have not written with coarse language, nor do we feel that we're writing pornography. Our mode is erotica. There's a difference. Please keep this in mind and in your writing. (See article on Porn vs Erotica) We're explicit, but not gritty. Lots of people read and write gritty slamming sex-only sludge elsewhere. Not here.

...You can write your character(s) entrance into Double Moon, alone or with help. Collapsing at the front door seems popular (overdone) but there are infinite other ways, limited only by your imagination.

...You may or may not be greeted 'officially' by Maxwell or the Ladies. Assume that your character is a welcome guest (if Dom/me, Top, Master/Mistress) or an acceptable addition to the Cellar (if sub, slave, bottom) or a meanie out to make trouble, or a new creature skulking the corridors or whatever. It's creative writing, so, be creative. You could begin writing as if your character has been at Double Moon for a while. If you've been reading here, then you should have no trouble.

...Create all you want, but please attempt some relevance to Double Moon or at least the genre (medieval, magical, gothic, mixed with erotica), along the same lines of what has already been written here, but with your own twists.

...Most of the characters you read about already have writers. If you need to interact with an established character, try to contact their writer. You may also ask questions openly on the group list. We're all pretty glad to be in this community and don't mind helping others jump in.

...There are a lot of acronyms we've all picked up from email and the net. The one that seems to throw people the most is OOC. OOC stands for Out Of Character. This may designate a little note from a writer, in the middle of roleplay or collaborative writing. It separates a mundane/usual/normal writer's comment from the thread of the story. Example: (OOC: I thought I could make this a short blurb on Etiquette. I guess I was wrong! ;)

...One more roleplaying term is 'god-moding', aka, powergaming. This refers to a writer/player whose character is very powerful (or just overbearing in the extreme) and they use every opportunity to fling it around. That's fine but it won't get a lot of playtime with others. No matter how powerful or dominating a character may be, each player must leave open some opportunities for others to interact. It is terribly bad form to assume another character's response and besides it takes the fun and surprise out of roleplaying entirely. What you write by yourself can go precisely as you want it to. When you open up the play for other creative persons to play with you, let them do it. Whether the action is sex or magic use, less is often more. A feather or length of silk (subtle actions) are quite a bit more enticing than a sledge hammer.
